Sugar-based surfactants

Be it in cosmetics or for detergents and cleaning products: A product’s foam plays a crucial role for consumer behavior. Different product applications call for different foam reactions, and the sugar-based surfactant series GlucoTain® and GlucoPure® make this possible. The building blocks of the very mild GlucoTain® and GlucoPure® surfactants are glucamides, formed from glucose and natural fatty acids from RSPO-MB sources. Read on to find out more!

GlucoTain® at a glance

The particularly mild GlucoTain® types achieve different foam structures - from large-pored to creamy - and are also particularly gentle on skin lipids and proteins. The EO- and sulfate-free ingredients are readily biodegradable and suitable for various product applications in skin and hair care, such as shampoos, shower gels, soaps, facial cleansers and shaving foam.

GlucoTain® Clear

  • Is suitable for all skin types and normal hair with its fluffy, large-pored foam
  • INCI: Capryloyl/Caproyl Methyl Glucamide
  • Origin: Coconut/palm (RSPO)
  • Properties: PEG-free, plant-based, foam booster

GlucoTain® Plus

  • Exhibits light and abundant foam 
  • The mild surfactant is used primarily in deep-cleansing facewash products or shampoos for greasy skin and hair, but also in make-up removers and anti-dandruff shampoos
  • INCI: Capryloyl/Caproyl Methyl Glucamide (and) Lauroyl/Myristoyl Methyl Glucamide
  • Origin: Coconut/palm (RSPO)
  • Properties: Biodegradable, foaming agent, light feel on skin, deep cleansing

GlucoTain® Flex

  • With its creamy foam, this is ideal for sulfate-free and CAPB-free formulas
  • The non-ionic surfactant helps with the creation of mild formulas thanks to its thickening properties
  • INCI: Lauroyl/Myristoyl Methyl Glucamide
  • Origin: Coconut/palm (RSPO)
  • Properties: Color protection, prevents tangles, biodegradable

GlucoTain® Care

  • With its rich and creamy foam, this is particularly suitable for dry, damaged hair and sensitive skin
  • It is recommended for nourishing, repair and baby shampoos
  • INCI: Cocoyl Methyl Glucamide
  • Origin: Coconut oil
  • Properties: Palm-free, mild, sulfate- and EO-free, salt-free

GlucoTain® Sense

  • The mild surfactant based on sunflower oil and sugar stands out for its moisturizing effect
  • The additive is recommended for nourishing cleansing formulas such as shampoos, shower creams, bath foams and wet wipes
  • INCI: Sunfloweroyl Methylglucamide
  • Origin: Sunflower oil
  • Properties: preservative-free, palm-free, salt-free, moisturizing

GlucoTain® LiquiFlex

  • Is particularly mild on skin and scores points for its viscosity-boosting effect even with a low active content of the final formulation
  • GlucoTain® LiquiFlex is suitable for shower gels, shampoos, sulfate-free formulas and handwashes
  • INCI: Lauroyl/Myristoyl Methyl Glucamide (and) Coco-Betaine
  • Origin: Blend
  • Properties: RCI= 85%, plant-based, mild

GlucoPure® for detergents and cleaning products

The GlucoPure® family is designed for use in detergents and cleaning products.
Alongside performance, the most important selection criteria are gentleness on skin/materials and environmental compatibility. Thanks to its excellent ecotoxicological profile, the sugar surfactant is also suitable for products with eco-labels.

GlucoPure® FOAM 

  • Is extremely mild on skin
  • Produces abundant foam 
  • Particularly suitable for hand dishwashing products
  • Description: N-Coconut Acyl-N-Methyl Glucamine
  • Origin: refined coconut oil
  • Properties: RCI= 95%, consists of renewable raw materials, mild, dissolves fat, free of Aquatox labels

GlucoPure® DEG

  • Is particularly mild
  • Cleanses thoroughly and makes glass and ceramic surfaces shine
  • Description: N-C12/14 Acyl-N-Methyl Glucamine
  • Origin: Palm oil
  • Properties: RCI= 95%, vegan, mild, RSPO

GlucoPure® WET

  • Is particularly gentle on plastics 
  • Serves as a wetting agent and solubilizer
  • Improves the drying of water on surfaces and thus prevents limescale build-up
  • The ideal co-surfactant for bathroom cleaning products
  • Description: N-C8/10 Acyl-N-Methyl Glucamine
  • Origin: Palm oil
  • Properties: RCI= 93%, rapid rinsing of soap scum, mild on plastics

GlucoPure® SENSE

  • Is particularly mild on skin 
  • Based on sunflower oil
  • Its foam resistance is retained in both hard and soft water 
  • Can therefore be used for hand dishwashing products, liquid detergents and fabric softeners
  • Description: Sunfloweroyl Methylglucamide
  • Origin: Sunflower oil
  • Properties: RCI= 96%, palm-free, very mild on skin, nourishing

GlucoPure® SUN

  • Is easy to process
  • Has a viscosity-boosting effect 
  • Does not carry any GHS hazard warning
  • Is suitable for hand dishwashing products
  • Description: Mix of glucamides and sodium laureth sulfate in acqueous, alcoholic solution 
  • Origin: Palm oil
  • Properties: RCI= 96%, mild, biodegradable
