Stevia is extracted from the plant “Stevia Rebaudiana” and used as an intensive sweetener in Japan, China, South America, USA, Canada and Switzerland. The plant is 15 to 30 times sweeter than sugar. Stevioside, the extract from the plant, is about 300 times sweeter than sugar.
